Exchange Traded Funds

An Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) is an index tracking fund listed on the London Stock Exchange.   ETFs combine the diversification of unit trusts and other pooled funds with the simplicity of shares. They are eligible for ISAs but don’t attract stamp duty. ETFs have some of the lowest annual charges of all collective investment schemes. First introduced in 2000, there are now 14 ETFs available, tracking equity and fixed income indices in the UK and around the world.  ETFs can be traded through any broker in the same way as any normal share.
